| 2005 Fall/Winter Newsletter As I write this newsletter the 2005 Big Game Season is coming to a close. As the season comes to a an end for 2005 we look back and try to remember all the highlights, people, and memories that made the 2005 hunting season special.
The 2005 hunting seasons proved to be yet another exciting and action packed season. Our clients were able to take some excellent animals again this year, and many but not all, are pictured on this newsletter.
Even though many of our clients took very nice, and /or record book animals it is "MEMORIES MADE" that is what really matters. I personally saw many "MEMORIES MADE" that will last a lifetime for those clients. I saw young hunters in our camps in 2005 on their first Montana hunting trip. I saw a hunter in our camp who had his father pass away just before the hunt took place. I feel that this client completed the hunt in memory of his father, as I am sure his father would have wanted it that way. I saw fathers and sons in our camps hunting together, taking time away from their very busy schedules to make some long lasting MEMORIES that can not be replaced by anything else. I saw three generations of family hunting together from our camp and I remember the "Grandpa" bringing many sons, grandsons, and granddaughters to hunt with Musselshell Outfitters over the past 13 years. I saw husbands and wives hunting together from our camps, hunting hard, with exceptional patience, and MAKING MEMORIES that will not be forgotten. I remember an elk hunter who was 15 yards of a large herd bull, then a large satellite bull, but did not take a shot due to a small twig that was in the line of fire. (bow hunt) This hunter did not shoot as he did not want to take a chance on wounding an animal. This client did not take an elk, but the memory of a large, free ranging, wild, bull elk at 15 yards will be etched in his mind for many years. I also remember a lady huntress who had the same experience where she could have taken a 25-30 yard shot at an elk, but did not take the shot as she felt the elk was not quite postioned for a quick bow kill. This is a good example of the quality of client that we experienced in 2005.
Over the past 18 years as a professional licensed hunting guide in Montana, the vast majority of hunting clients that I have guided and/or outfitted, have been hard working,honest, ethical, and a true asset to the hunting world. Most of the clients we have guided over the past 18 years have a great appreciation and respect for free-ranging, fair chase hunting. This type of sportsman and sportswoman have been a pleasure to to have as clients. I feel lucky to have shared many memories with the hundreds of clients that I have personally guided and outfitted over the past 18 years. Thank you and hats off these clients. Since Musselshell Outfitters,LLC has such a long history of guiding hunting clients, we are fortunate to have many references from past to present for prospective clients to talk with as references. I urge all prospective clients to call these references and take advantage of learning about the past hunting quality of Musselshell Outfitters, LLC. It is important to talk to clients who have taken game , as well as clients who did not take game. As you talk to some of these past clients, you will most likely jog some MEMORIES and spark some conversation about the hunting trip.
